MADARA FREIVALDE
Madara Freivalde, Mg. sci. soc. in Library and Information Science. Interest in the library industry began to emerge after attending the BOBCATSSS 2011 symposium. Her first job experience in library was chief librarian in Children Literature Centre in the National Library of Latvia. Her job responsibilities were to coordinate local reading promotion programme, especially focusing on parent involvement in reading with their children and consulted different public libraries in Latvia about problems and solutions in reading promotion and literacy in general. Currently she is working as chief librarian in Library Development Centre in National Library of Latvia and keeps working with an audience of children and young people. She studies industry trends in Latvia and the world. She writes articles on the Library Portal.
