Jane Makke is the Head of the Library Services Development Centre at the National Library of Estonia (NLE) starting from January 2020. She has been working in the library industry for many years – in the customer service, acquisition and data management. Her career began in the parliamentary and law librarianship, which was followed by metadata related activities. She was responsible for implementing metadata standards and data models, curating data as well as raising awareness of the reuse of NLE’s data assets and participating in projects to develop applications for the Library and its patrons.

Ms Makke received BA in information sciences from the Tallinn University. Additionally, she has studied Business Administration (BA) and is currently studying Management in the Digital Society (MA) in the Estonian Business School.
